Marathon of events
The first highlight was an open door day (‘Open House’) for employees, then the open door days for clients, followed by a training course on ‘pharmaceutical lyophilization’. From the end of October until the beginning of November, the Mornshausen facility of Optima Group Pharma, where Klee manufactures its freeze dryers, was like a beehive.
The first open door day was dedicated to Klee’s employees and their families. The numerous visitors were impressed by the lines’ mere dimensions: The systems in the vast assembly halls - custom-built to contain them - soar up 13m high. This open door event served a good purpose: „A generous donation will soon be handed over to an organization helping cancer and leukemia patients from which Klee employees sold self-baked cakes and the company management donated beverages and snacks“, as general manager Franz Boßhammer told us.
During the ten-day open door event for customers at the end of October, the visitors’ great interest focused on Klee’s pioneering pharmaceutical freeze drying technologies. Sales manager Jens Gemmecker reported that guests from all over Europe attended the event; several times a day, groups of interested clients were given guided tours through the production facilities, followed by supplementary Q&A sessions. As confirmed by resultant customer inquiries, this annual event proved once more a huge success.
From November the 3rd to the 5th, participants of a training course acquired valuable knowledge and practical know-how on pharmaceutical freeze drying. The program provided two days of theoretical and one day of practical training. The practical module took place at the Mornshausen location. Trainers on site were Franz Boßhammer, Jens Gemmecker as well as German and Swiss pharma experts from the fields of industry, research and consulting. Topics were design basics, components of a lyophilisation system, process and product validation as well as practical system operation.
