Film team records practical training module

‘Precise and safe operation of Optima Group Pharma machinery’ - this was – to sum things up - the goal of the completed training courses for technicians and operators.
Even the most practice-oriented training cannot do without background knowledge: How do the system’s reciprocal effects interrelate? What action is to be taken in case of an error message? How to remedy a machine fault without having to open the machine coverings (in the cleanroom)? The train-ing, however, highlighted the basics: The smooth and safe line operation.
Starting May the 5th up until May the 12th operators and technicians were trained by Optima Group Pharma. To outline a training concept adapted to the specific needs and requirements of a production site in Pennsylvania, USA, customer wishes were repeatedly explored and modifications were implemented in an ongoing effort of 14 months.
The training was held at the customer‘s facility. The theoretical (‘classroom’) part took four days; the following practical (‘hands-on’) training lasted another eight days. After completing the measure, the eight participants’ theoretical knowledge was tested – and all trainees passed.
Trouble shooting was the focus of the practical part: The learners had to detect teacher-simulated machine line faults. Their only tools: their newly acquired knowledge and their training documents. The machine park of the worldwide operating pharmaceutical company contains several lines from Optima Group Pharma’s machine program: Two syringe lines and one vial line offered ample opportunity to smuggle in machine errors – but the participants’ methodical trouble shooting procedure quickly led to success.
Intending to give new employees access to the contents of the training measure, the client initiated videotaping the practical instructions and exercises. Simultaneously, the film serves as a documentary report of the training. Trainers received radio microphones and a small film team recorded this part of the classes.
Trainers on site were Roland Paxian and Ralf Horlacher from Optima Group Pharma (Schwäbisch Hall), Andreas Schuck from Optima Corporation (USA,Green Bay) and Timo Frisch (Erhardt + Abt, Automatisierungstechnik). Sven Grenzner (Optima Group Pharma, Schwaebisch Hall), also attending the event, spontaneously volunteered to give expert advice on all questions related to the sterilization tunnel.
In a final questionnaire, participants evaluated the training measure as ‘excellent’. The company plans to repeat this live training measure in approx. three years. |
